A day in the life of a seminarian

Training to be a priest

What is it like to train to be a Catholic priest in the 21st century?

What is involved exactly in preparing to be a priest?

We went to St Mary’s College Oscott in Birmingham to talk to two of our seminarians Paschal Uche and Michael Barwick about some of these questions and see what the day-to-day life of a priest in training looks like. As well as talking to the students themselve,s we also spoke to Fr Paul Keane, a priest of our diocese and Vice-Rector of Oscott to give us a perspective from the staff who are charged with training the priests of the future.

Discover Vocations

This episode is the first in a series called ‘Discover Vocations’ that will explore different vocations and states of lives to help all to pray and discern vocation more in their own lives.

We hope to release further documentary style episodes on Religious Life, Single Life, Married Life and testimonies from all sorts of people as they seek to live out their God-given vocation.
