The Diocesan Vocations Team was launched on St George's Day in 2005. Many dioceses in England and Wales now have such teams, whose job it is to promote a sense and culture of vocation within the diocese, in parish, school and home.

The Team should represent the range of state-in-life vocations as well as a range of the organisations that can be found in the diocese.

Our Team happily reflects this diversity around the diocese.

The Brentwood Diocesan Vocations Team consists of:

Miss Teresa Carvalho Brentwood Catholic Youth Service
Sr Nuala Gannon Brentwood Religious Education Service & Commission for Formation and Evangelisation
Mrs Gael Hicks Headteacher, St Helen's Primary School, Canning Town
Mr David Micklewright Centre Chairman with Marriage Care
Sr Frances Moore Co-ordinating Chaplain, Whipps Cross Hospital, East London
Mr Peter Moran The Sion Community for Evangelisation, Brentwood
Sr Camilla Oberding Community of Our Lady of Walsingham
Br John Paul Ouellette Franciscan Friars of the Renewal
Mr James Ryan Brentwood Catholic Youth Service
Fr Joseph Silver Diocesan Director of Vocations
Mrs Deidre Smith School Chaplain, Trinity High School, Woodford Green
Revd Duncan Whitehouse Permanent Deacon

We have produced an Intercessions card for use at Morning and Evening Prayer, copies of which can be obtained from Fr Joseph Silver and we are currently working on a DVD on Vocation for schools.

Members of the Team can be contacted through the website.
